"East Meets West" is not a simple collage of cultural symbols, but a deep dialogue between two modes of thinking and aesthetic traditions. It explores the encounter between Eastern holistic contemplation and Western rational discourse, the fusion of Eastern "blank-leaving" imagery and Western realism. In an era of globalization, this points to an inquiry into individual cultural identity—how do we find our place amidst diversity? The theme embraces all authentic states of "encounter"—harmony, conflict, and bewilderment—allowing both cultures to maintain their tension and dialogue within the artwork.
This competition promotes cross-cultural understanding through art, bridging divides in an era of civilizational dialogue. It inspires innovation in artistic language, encouraging creators to break established paradigms and forge new expressions for our times. Meanwhile, the works will document the collective spiritual landscape of cultural fusion in this era, revitalizing traditions in contemporary contexts. Ultimately, "East Meets West" affirms through art that regardless of origin, humanity's shared emotions and existential inquiries always converge under the same stars.
